Jitsi (Bulgarian: жици “wire”) is a open source cross-platform instant messaging and video conferencing application. Initially supporting only the SIP protocol for audio, it joined Jingle in 2011 to enable video conferencing. The application allows, among other things, VoIP telephony with other Jitsi users (XMPP and SIP); telephony to landlines and mobiles by Internet (SIP), screen sharing, audio or video conferences to several and sending SMS or emails.
